Affiliate and Certified Teachers
Any tai chi teacher who shows an interest in the snake style and wishes to join ISSA is welcome to become an Affiliate School of the International Snake Style Association. An “Open Door” policy is an underlying principle of our organization.
Certification, on the other hand, is based on a teacher’s proven dedication to the preservation and promotion of the snake style throughout the world. Proof of this dedication may be illustrated in the following ways:
1. Participating in seminars and workshops offered in Europe and the U.S. on a continuing semi-annual or annual basis.
2. Offering to host a snake style workshop and seminar in the teacher’s region or country.
3. Creating an on-going training program with Master Boyd at the Bao Tak Fai Tai Chi Institute in Vermont.
4. Willingness to teach according to the code of conduct established by ISSA Certified teachers.
Acceptance for certification will be based on a general consensus among existing Certified Teachers. Denial of certification may be appealed to ISSA headquarters and a final decision will be made by Master Boyd. Certification will be reviewed bi-annually and certification may be withdrawn if the teacher fails to maintain the standards outlined above. Violation of the Code of Conduct is also cause for withdrawal of certification.
